Ingiriya police fined for illegally acquiring water over a 10 year period

The National Water Supplies Board has imposed fine against Ingiriya Police for  illegally obtained pipe water over a 10 year period.

The discovery was made during an inspection  by  NWSB’s raid division.

It was found that water had been obtained via a pipe that was connected   ahead of the water meter.

Reports say that as a result the National Water Supplies and Water Drainage Board had incurred a loss of about Rs. 150,000.
