Met Department's announcement released at 3.30pm today says heavy showers or showers with thunder could be expected in both deep and shallow sea areas in Eastern and South Eastern parts of the island due to active cloud system prevailed to the South East of the island.

Moreover, due to the speed of the wind would stand between 60-70kmph, the sea would become rough in nature.

Met Department further requests from the fishermen and the navy personnel to be cautious of the weather.
