Tri forces will be further consolidated; President says at war hero’s commemoration ceremony

President Maithripala Sirisena said although certain individuals wanted security forces to be reduced, the government has been consolidating the tri forces.

President Sirisena was speaking at the war heroes commemoration ceremony 2017 held at the Parliament ground this afternoon.

Our correspondents stated that tri forces commanders as well as the family members of war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country in the war attended the ceremony.

After observing 2-minutes silence to commemorate the deceased, all religious rites were conducted.
