Several houses were damaged in the Maha Oya area in Ampara in strong winds experienced last night.

Meanwhile, 8 families have been removed after building had shown signs of slanting in the Kolonnawa area.

Meanwhile, the MET Department stated that fairly strong winds can be expected over the island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces.
