New ministries scopes to be gazetted within five days

The Government has decided to gazette the scopes relevant to the new cabinet reshuffle within five days.

Accordingly the subject areas of new ministries are scheduled to be altered.

reports say that several institutions currently under cabinet ministries are also scheduled to be handed over to the new ministries.

Subject areas of ministries where there had been problems in the past are also due to be altered.

The first cabinet reshuffle of the consensus Government took place yesterday making changes in top ministry posts including finance, foreign affairs, Port and Mass Media.

Accordingly new ministers for nine cabinet ministries and one state ministry took their oaths before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

Similarly after the President’s Australian tour changes  are scheduled to take place with regard to Deputy Ministers and State Ministers.
