Kalu, Gin and Nilwala rivers currently have overflown due to heavy rain and a number of lowlands have been flooded.

Meanwhile, Disaster Management Centre has requested from the general public to be cautious since the river Kelani has come to its brink and will spill at any time.

Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North Western provinces have experienced a heavy rainfall exceeding 150mm.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, Ratnapura has received a rainfall which has exceeded 196.7mm, says reports.
