37 dismissed in landslides in Kaluthara; 28 deaths reported from Rathnapura

37 persons have died and more than 70 have gone missing from the landslides in Kalutara District, says Kalutara Divisional Secretary.

Police said that 3 houses have been destroyed due to a landslide in Delkitwatta in Baduraliya, and 11 individuals have resided in the houses.

One person has been rescued while two more dead bodies have been located.

Moreover, 3 houses have been damaged due to a landslide in Kosgulana area.

Paragoda/Galketiya/Molkawa/Ihala Welgama/Yatagampitiya/Diyakaduwa/Nagahadola/Kukulegala/Fahiengalaroad and Kalawellawa areas in Bulathsinhala have been flooded upto 10ft of water.

Police announced that according to the information received by them, 3 houses have been affected by a landslide in Thibbotuwawa and 12 residents have gone missing.
