One person has gone missing when the ferry on which he was riding overturned in Serupitiya area in Kalutara South.

Police said that the person has met with this accident when he went on distributing food for the people affected from adverse weather.

The accident has taken place yesterday and especially a Buddhist monk has also been on the ferry during the accident.

Moreover, 4 more individuals have been on the ferry.

The person who has gone missing was a 55 year old resident in Serupitiya.

Further investigations are underway by the officers of Police Life Saving Unit in collaboration with the villagers to find the missing person.
