Chief incumbents of the three Nikayas request that Relief aid continues to be distributed to disaster victims

Issuing a communiqué, the Chief Incumbents of the three Nikayas say that relief efforts should be carried out till those affected by floods and landslides are no longer impacted by the devastation.

The joint communiqué has been issued with the signatures of

Chief Incumbent of the Malwatta Chapter Most Venerable Thibba-thu-waawey Sri Sumangala Thera,

Chief Incumbent of the Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Warakaagoda Gnanarathana,

the Chief Incumbent of the Amarapura Nikaya Most Venerable Kotugoda Sri Dhammaavaasa Thera

and Chief Incumbent of the Sri Lanka Raamagngna Nikaya Most Venerable Naapaana Sri Pemasiri Thera.

The prelate’s expressed their condolences to all who have been affected by the loss of loved ones and the damage of property.

It is also mentioned in the communiqué that they express their approval and joy,  with regard to the relief services currently being provided by the Government and all media organizations, the general public as well as all religious leaders.

The Chief Incumbents also requested that at the end of each religious rite, to invoke merits on those who have lost their lives,  as well as to pray for blessings of goodness and peace on those affected, the sick and helpless people.

In the joint release the prelates also say that it is appropriate to make a donation towards relief efforts , from the funds that had been set aside for decorations in view of Poson Poya.
