The death toll resulting from the severe weather now stands at 203.

According to latest statistics released by the Disaster Management Centre, another 96 persons are still missing while 631, 346 individuals have been impacted by the disaster.

The Death toll in the Ratnapura district has risen to 84 while 63 deaths were reported from the Kalutara district.

The Disaster Management Centre also stated that 1,508 houses have been destroyed while 7,617 have been damaged.

77643 standed victims have been sheltered in 368 makeshift camps.

Meanwhile, The met department states that strong winds reaching approximately 50 kilo meters per hour have been predicted.

Showers will occur at times in the Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Western and Central provinces.

Rainfall of around 75 mili meters can be expected, particularly in the Rathnapura, Kaluthara & Kegalle districts.

Duty Meteorologist Sachintha Jayasekara stated that considerable rainfall and  thunderstorms will occur in other provinces particularly during this afternoon.
