The Court of Appeal rejected the petition filed by the three companies involved in the controversial Central Bank Bond scam including Perpetual Treasuries Limited.

The three companies had requested from the Court of Appeal to annul the order issued by the Monetary Board of the Central Bank that has limited their future transactions.

The petition was rejected after the lawyers appeared for the Attorney General and other respondents pointed out that the said companies were not incorporated in proper manner.

Having considered the facts pointed before the Court, President of the Court of Appeal Justice Rohini Walgama and Justice S. Thurairajah rejected the petition.

The petitioners pointed out that the said order was issued by the Monetary Board of the Central Bank on November 02nd, 2016.
