24 Ministers from non-affected areas to coordinate disaster relief

Ministers from non-affected areas were assigned as coordinators of the disaster affected areas today.

The new coordinating ministers received their letters of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential secretariat today.

Accordingly, the responsibility of the new coordinators is to look into relief operations and help rebuild the devastated lives of people in disaster hit areas.

24 coordinating ministers have been appointed in this manner.

Meanwhile, landslide warning issued for 7 districts will continue further for the next 24 hours.   

National Building Research Organization stated that the earth slips warning will be in place for Ratnapura, Kegalle, Galle, Matara, Kalutara, Hambantota, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
