A cracked pipe which is part of the pipeline that runs along the Colombo Port sea line was reported last evening.

The leak caused crude oil to seep out into the ocean.

The Chairman of the authority of Marine Environment Protection, Retired Rear Admiral Rohana Perera told our news team rough seas could be the reason for the burst.

He also said that approximately 25 metric tons of crude oil is believed to have leaked into the ocean
