Death toll from natural disasters hits 211; over 700,000 affected

The death toll resulting from floods and landslides has risen to 211.

The DMC stated that another 91 people are still reported missing while 72 are injured.

Most number of deaths were reported from the Ratnapura district which stands at 86.

704 thousand 815 people have been affected by the disaster situation while 1,999 houses have been completely destroyed.

39 thousand 092 displaced people have been given temporary shelter at 239 relief camps.
