Several landslides were reported during the last few days due to heavy rains.

219 persons belonging to 60 families have been evacuated due to a landslide at Deniyakanda in Walasmulla.

Meanwhile, an earth mound has collapsed over a line of houses in the

Wana-Raajaa estate in Dik-Oya, Hatton.

Residents have been moved to a separate location.

Meanwhile, the National Building Research Organization stated that the landslide warning issued for 7 districts continues to be in place.

Meanwhile, the Irrigations Department stated that people should not fear more floods as water levels of main rivers are gradually receding.

In the meantime Media Spokesperson of the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy Sulakshana Jayawardana stated that there was no truth in the rumours that the bund of the Kukuleganga reservoir is at risk.
