The 7th stock of relief items collected under Gold FM Cares initiative together with Hiru FM and Hiru TV launched in order to support our very own people affected by the inclement weather, was handed over to the Akuressa – Athuraliya divisional secretariat office.

The special convoy of vehicles departed from the main collection centre situated at 156/2, Nawala road, Nugegoda and arrived in Akuressa via the Southern Express way.

Nearly 18,000 individuals in 5,186 families were affected by the flood conditions owing to the overflowing of Nilwala river.

The stock of relief items was handed over to the Athuraliya divisional secretariat, C.G Sarath Kumara.  

Meanwhile, under the Gold FM Cares initiative together with Hiru FM and Hiru TV, which was launched by the Asia Broadcasting Corporation to support those affected by the inclement weather, the provision of health services also took place in Matara and Kalu Aggala - Hanwella areas today.

It was noteworthy that many health services, including specialized medical facilities and first aid was provided for the people affected by floods and landslides.

It has been reported that massive crowds affected by the inclement weather gathered at the health camp held at the Matara Madya Maha Vidyalaya.

The second health camp was held in Kaluaggala-Kithsiyawatta Sri Uposatharama temple.

Our correspondent noted that residents of areas belonging to the Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat who were affected by the overflowing of Kelani River in Hanwella and Kaduwela areas were present.

The Gold FM cares health initiative was launched by the Asia Broadcasting Corporation under the Gold FM cares programme together with Hiru TV and Hiru FM with the noble intention of providing relief for those distressed owing to the adverse weather.

The Asia Broadcasting Corporation along with the Sri Lanka Red Cross have taken measures to travel to areas still flooded by boat and provide first aid.

Massive number of stocks is currently being received at the main collection center situated in Nawala road, Nugegoda for the Gold FM Cares initiative together with Hiru FM and Hiru TV.

The Gold FM cares initiative together with Hiru FM and Hiru TV launched by the Asia broadcasting corporation to support the people affected by the inclement weather, is receiving a great response from People Island wide.
