A debate will be held today at the Northern Provincial council regarding the corruption allegations levelled against four Northern Provincial council ministers.

Northern Province Chief Minister C. V. Wigneshwaran had recently appointed a three-member committee including a retired high court judge for probing the charges.

It is said that the committee report states that two out of the four ministers are involved in a number of corrupt and fraudulent actions.

Accordingly S. Kuru-kula-raasaa had recently  sent a letter to the leader of  Tamul Arasu Katchi  MP Maavai Senaadhiraajaa.  informing him that he was temporarily resigning from the post of provincial council education minister,  till the charges against him are dropped.

TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran said that if the northern provincial council cabinet was fully altered, it would be opposed.

The MP made the statement in response to a query our correspondents presented with regards to reports published, stating that northern province Chief Minister C. V. Wigneshwaran had decided to remove all four ministers against whom corruption charges have been levelled and that a new cabinet  would be set up.
