The term of the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate the current government’s bonds issue,  that had led to an uproar,  is scheduled to end on July 27.

The Commission’s Secretary Sumathipala Udu-gama-sooriya said that at this stage approximately 30 persons comprising of politicians, government officials as well as several from the private sector had submitted evidence before the commission.

The President appointed this commission, comprising of Supreme Court Judges  K. T. Chitrasiri, Prasanna Jayawardhana and former Deputy Auditor General Velupillai Kandasamy, to probe reports prevalent to the bonds issue.
