Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the Joint Opposition will decide to refrain from presenting proposals for the new constitution until an election is held.

The former president expressed these views addressing a meeting held in Monaragala yesterday.

Meanwhile, the former president stated that a draft bill has been gazetted to enforce the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance in Sri Lanka.

The former president in a communiqué notes that the draft bill will only result in the country’s war heroes being betrayed before International Criminal Courts and courts of other countries.
