Draft Act on missing persons will not be presented in parliament today

State minister of Public Enterprises Development Lakshman Yapa  Abeywardhana says the Draft “International Consensus Act for Protecting All Persons from Forced Disappearances” will not be presented in parliament today.

The State Minister said that the President had instructed that the draft Act not be presented in parliament till the content has been clarified.

Former Army Commander General Dayaa Ratnaayaka, who met the Chief Prelates yesterday confirmed that this draft Act was however scheduled to be presented in parliament today.
