The British government has informed British citizens to be cautious of the dengue epidemic prevailing in the country when visiting Sri Lanka.

The information has been provided via the official website of the british government noting that the dengue epidemic has spread in several areas in Sri Lanka.

Britons have been advised on the safety precautions which need to be taken, and measures which should be taken during an emergency situation.

Meanwhile, the CNN channel has also published a report on the prevailing dengue situation in the country.

The report noted that there are over 200 deaths reported owing to dengue and that hospitals are overcrowded.

The report had quoted data published by the ministry of health noting that issues that arisen with regard to garbage management has resulted in the dengue outbreak.
