A member of the Asgiri Chapter Karaka Sangha Sabha, Dr. Godagama Mangala Thera says that despite attempts made by the  Archaeological consultation board to temporarily close  Rangiri Dambula Cave temple, it will continue to be kept open for foreign tourists.

The Archaeological Consultation Board decided yesterday to temporarily close the cave temple complex until further notice,  in order to carry out conservation and research.

The Consultation Board also decided to sell tickets through the Central Cultural Fund.

However, chief incumbent of the temple said at a media conference held today that the cave temple will be kept open and, tickets will continue to be sold through the Buddhist Affairs Commissioner’s office and the Trust of the temple.
