President Maithreepala Sirisena left for Bangladesh on a three day state visit at 7.55 am today via Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 189.

The president is engaging in the visit upon an invitation received from the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.

President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for Bangladesh today on a three-day official visit , at the invitation of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

During his visit, the President will hold talks with the Bangladeshi Prime Minister and the President, Abdul Hamid , while Bangladesh Foreign Minister, Health Minister, the Speaker and the Opposition Leader will also meet with President sirisena for discussions.

The President will hold extensive bilateral discussions regarding the ways to strengthen the cooperation in several  fields to promote investments between the two countries.

the two countries are expected to sign several bilateral agreements in the fields of agriculture, education, training of diplomats and Immigration & Emigration.

Meanwhile President Maithreepala Sirisena says that all state sector employees must be the navigators of development supporting its regulation in the next few years.

He stated this addressing the executive committee of the president’s office, at Nelum- Pokuna theatre in Colombo yesterday.
