Authorities have agreed to carry out the conservation on historical paintings at Dambulla Cave temple under the supervision of the temple incumbent and other trustees.

The Commissioner of Buddhist Affairs, the Director Generals of Archaeological Department and the Central Cultural Triangle and Dambulla temple trustees came to this agreement at a meeting held at the Asgiri temple in Kandy today.

Asgiri Chief Prelate, Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thera also participated in the meeting.

Registrar of the Asgiri Chapter Medagama Dhammananda Thera said that the parties agreed to continue the conservation without closing the temple and, tickets are to be issued by the temple.
