No issues with releasing water of Moragahakanda for cultivations; says Mahaweli Authority

The Mahaweli Authority stated that 145 Million Cubic Meters of water was collected at the Moragahakanda reservoir during the recent rainy season.

94 Million Cubic Meters of water has already been released to Elahera, Minneriya, Girithale, Kawudulla and Parakrama Samudraya.

The Mahaweli Authority therefore stated that there was no issue in releasing water for cultivations during the forthcoming Yala season.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board A C M Zulfikar said that nearly 3,000 wells have been cleaned following the recent floods.
