The Inter University Students Federation stated that the GMOA should resort to an indefinite strike in order to resolve the SAITM issue.

Addressing a media conference held at  Sri Jayewardenepura University today, IUSF acting convener Mangala Maddumage said they met with GMOA officials yesterday and have made this request.

However, GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge stated recently that there is no immediate requirement to launch a strike as the Prime Minister has already given a positive response towards the SAITM issue.

At a media conference earlier today, IUSF Acting Convener Maddumage was asked by journalists about the outcome of the meeting between the IUSF and GMOA and the handover of Neville Fernando hospital .
