Minster Mahinda Samarasinghe said that he has put forward a request to the Finance Ministry to provide him a list of MPs who possess liquor licenses.
Addressing a narcotic prevention seminar in Colombo today, the minister said that the MPs should implement the anti narcotic and anti liquor initiatives, as per the directive of the resident.
Meanwhile, Director of the Anti narcotic task force of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Samantha Kithala Aarachchi said Sri Lankan drug addicts use over 648 varieties of narcotics.
He stated that new laws are required to control some of such drug usage.
Dr. Kithala Aarachchi further said that 35% of the male population in this country are addicted to liquor.
