School Development committee of Bulathsinhala National School states that its female Principal has failed to report to work after she was reprimanded by deputy minister Palitha Thevarapperuma.

A female committee member stated that the principal was threatened by the deputy minister on June 23rd.

Minister Thevarapperuma has demanded that the principal recall details of an incident concerning a student who had been suspended earlier for disciplinary reasons.

She said the Principal,  Mrs. S.D. Wimalaweera did not report to work after she was reprimanded again on July 6th.

National School Director Jayantha Wickremanayake said that a new principal will be appointed soon.

He said that an acting principal is attending to school administrative affairs.
