President Maithripala Sirisena says that the government is taking action to strengthen and protect free education as well as to provide sound vocational training for youth.

The President made the statement at  the World Skills Day commemoration ceremony held in Colombo yesterday.

Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Chandima Weerakkody also participated in the ceremony.

Addressing the audience,  President Maithripala Sirisena said that the current Government was responsible for making education at  all institutions under the ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training, free to youth.
