The IUSF has decided to submit a petition to the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission in connection with firstly the attempt made to abduct Ryan Jayalath ,the convener of the Medical Faculty Student Activists’ Committee,  and secondly the attack unleashed on university students at Kekirawa.

IUSF acting convener Sanath Bandara told our news team that medical students of all university faculties have decided to stage protests with effect from next Monday.

Meanwhile, GMOA has submitted a petition to the UN Human Rights Council citing that the government is resorting to suppress struggles by university students.

At the same time, the GMOA condemned the attempt to abduct Ryan Jayalath.

A tense situation erupted at the GMOA headquarters when attempts were made to arrest Jayalath.

Further, an unknown group assaulted a group of university students in Kekirawa whilst they were distributing ANTI SATIM leaflets.
