GMOA doctors on strike writes to the Prime Minister

The GMOA states that the decision as to whether the token strike launched this morning , would continue or not,  will be decided during the central working committee meeting which is being held at this time.

The GMOA met with the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, Minister Sagala Rathnayake this morning and handed a letter to him that was to be passed on to the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, our correspondents stated that patients have been severly impacted due to the island wide strike.

Director of the Colombo national Hospital Dr. Anil Jaasinghe said that clinical services have been crippled, but emergency, surgery and dengue patients units are functioning as usual.

Director of the Kandy General Hospital Dr. Saman Rathnayake said health services at his hospital have also disrupted due to the strike.
