The European Union announced that they would continue to consider the LTTE as a terrorist organisation, despite the ruling made by the European Court of Justice yesterday.

The EU made this announcement yesterday issuing a statement following the decision made by the top court.

the decision was made to have the  LTTE removed from the list of recognized terrorist organizations and accordingly, annul measures taken against the LTTE such as the freezing of their funds.

Responding to the courts ruling, the EU issued a statement saying that the current ruling of the European court of justice would be carefully analysed, and proceed to confirm that restrictive measures against the LTTE would remain in force until further notice
