Protests were held at several universities against the assault on the petroleum trade union strikers.

Our correspondents stated that protests were held at universities in Peradeniya, Sabaragamuwa and Ruhuna.

At the same time IUSF convened a media conference in Colombo today and expressed their views with regard to the assault on the petroleum strikers.

Meanwhile, National Trade Union Center staged a protest in front of Fort Railway Station against the assault on the petroleum strikers.

Center chairman K.D. Lal Kantha and its coordinator Wasantha Samarasinghe expressed their views during the protest in this manner.
