Petroleum Trade Unions stated that they would not resort to launch a strike.

They announced this following discussion with President Maithripala Sirisena today.

Convener of the Trade Union Collective D.J. Rajakaruna quoted the President as saying that the particular agreement with regard to leasing out Hambantota Harbor to a Chinese company was presented to the Cabinet today.

Meanwhile, a resident of Kolonnawa, Dan Priyasad lodged a complaint with the Wellampitiya police with regard to the recent assault on Petroleum strikers today.

Later, presenting photographs of those who arrived in the scene to unleash the attack, Dan Priyasad said the attackers have close links to the supporters of MP S.M. Marikkar.
