The UNP MPs who proposed to present a no confidence motion against Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse , have decided to refrain from making a decision until the party central working committee meets this Wednesday.

A senior MP of the group told our news team that it is expected that the matter will be discussed in detail during the meeting.

He also said that his group is well equipped to explain to senior members of the party, details relating to minister Wijedasa’s agenda.

A UNP senior Minister also told our news team that a decision should be taken at the central working committee meeting.

The announcement that a no confidence motion would be presented against Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse, was made soon after former foreign minister Ravi Karunanayake resigned from his portfolio.

UNP backbenchers announced their intention to move a no confidence motion against minister Wijedasa Rajapakse alleging that he has failed to fulfil his responsibilities as a minister and in addition has breached his collective responsibility toward the Cabinet.
