Minister of Northern Provincial Transport  B. Denishwaran gavce his assurance that he would not resign from his post,  disregarding the notice issued by Chief Minister C.V. Wigneshwaran.

Denishwaran was speaking to journalists at a media conference held in Vavuniya a short while ago.

TNA decided last weekend to vest all authorities in the Northern Chief Minister including the power to appoint provincial ministers.

Political party leaders of all coalitions of the TNA participated in that meeting.

The TNA coalition parties also agreed that the chief minister should consult the leaders of all coalitions before appointing minister.

At the conclusion of that meeting, Chief Minister Wigneshwaran told the media that he expected to change ministry portfolios.

In support of the chief minister’s intention to reshuffle ministry positions, Health Minister Padmanadan Sathyalingam resigned from his post.

Northern Provincial Transport Minister Denishwaran represents Tamil Ealam Liberation Organization.

However, M.K Sivajilingam , amember of the same political party TELO, said that his party would take action to remove Denishwaran unless he resigns from the post.
