Deputy minister of national policies and economic affairs, Dr. Harsha de Silva says the entire UNP working and parliamentary groups fiercely criticized minister Wijedasa Rajapaksha for his recent statements.

The deputy minister said in a message appeared in his twitter account that UNP group criticized the minister for about two hours.

But the minister has said that he did nothing wrong. Minister Wijedasa has told the gathering that he can do nothing to speed up legal action against corruption.

According to the deputy minister no one had accepted the explanation. Minister Wijedasa has also said that he had never said that he would not look back until he cancels the 'Hambantota Port Deal'.

The meeting of the UNP working and parliamentary groups began at the UNP headquarters, Sirikotha in Pita Kotte at around 10.30am today.

Party leader prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe chaired the meeting.

A senior UNP minister said that minster Dr. Wijedasa Rajapaksha who were criticized by his party colleagues, over the last few days, was also present.
