Authorities have arrested four persons at the Bandaranaike International Airport, for trying to smuggle out 387.81g of gold to India.

One of them was an Indian and other three were Sri Lankans.

The estimated value of the detected gold was 2.1 million rupees.

The Customs Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne said that the suspects were released after imposing fines of 10,000 rupees each.
