Education Ministry issuing a statement says the questions in part 2 of chemistry paper of this year’s G.C.E. A/L Examination, which were published in a leaflet, have not leaked before the exam.

The Ministry said this was revealed during a police investigation into the alleged leak of questions.

The Commissioner General of Examinations, W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara said it proved the allegations spread by certain factions that those questions have been leaked before the examination, are wrong.

The investigations revealed that after the examination has started the content in the question paper had been obtained by those who had published the leaflet, through someone who was inside the examination hall.

Thereafter, the leaflet has been printed during the time of the examination.

Earlier in the day (21) police arrested the father and the brother of the tuition teacher who had distributed the controversial leaflet.

They are accused of distributing the leaflet nearby the examination center at Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya in Gampaha, last Saturday (19).

The tuition teacher in his leaflet has told the students that he had already discussed three questions in the part two of the chemistry paper at one of his seminars in a previous occasion.

Thereafter, the Department of Examinations lodged a complaint with the Police Headquarters to probe the issue.
