Central Environmental Authority says biodegradable polythene has been introduced as a substitute for polythene, shopping bags and rigifoam.

Government has taken a policy decision to ban usage and manufacture of polythene from 1st of September.

The CEA said the new product will be able to purchase from the market from next month and the new product will degrade within 100 days.
