Sri Lanka Freedom Party MP Sanath Nishantha says that if steps are to be taken to cancel his party membership he would take action against it.

The MP said so in response to a query raised by our news team regarding reports that the SLFP is to cancel the membership of seven of their members in the coming week.

The reports state that  in addition to MP Sanath Nishantha,  MPs Prasanna Ranathunga, Pavitraa Wanniaarachchi, Rohitha Abegunawardhana, Dilum Amunugama, Lohan Ratwatte, and Prasanna Ranaweera were to lose their of SLFP memberships.

If they lose the party membership they will also lose their parliamentary seats, according to the 19th constitutional amendment.
