The Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered the respondents today (29) to file written objections against a petition, which seeks to reappoint former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the post of SLFP Chairmanship, replacing President Maithripala Sirisena.

The written objections should be presented on the 4th of September.

Two members of the SLFP All Island Committee, former Chairman of Borelasgamuwa Urban Council, Aruna Priyashantha and Asanka Srinath had filed this petition.

Meanwhile, during a recent media conference, the former President said he's still the chairman of the SLFP.
