Water levels of major reservoirs drops to 14%

The average water level of all reservoirs managed by the Irrigation Department has dropped to 14%.

The Director of the Water Management Unit, W. B. Palugaswewa told our news team, major irrigation tanks in the districts of Puttalam, Vavuniya, and Mannar have completely dried up.

In addition, another 15,000 minor irrigation tanks managed by the Agrarian Development Department have also dried up.
