Date fixed to hear petitions against 20A

The Supreme Court today (29) fixed the 6th of September to hear the petition filed by a group including MP Udaya Gammanpila against the 20th amendment to the constitution.

A bench comprising of Chief Justice Priyasath Dep, Anil Gooneratne and Vijith Malalgoda announced the decision.

The bench also ruled that the filing of petitions on the 20th amendment should be end from tomorrow.

The Mahajana Eksath Peramuna and Paffrel also filed petitions against the 20th amendment yesterday.
