Top Indian delegation arrives in Sri Lanka to attend Indian Ocean Conference

Our correspondent said that the Indian Foreign Secretary Dr. S. Jaishankar arrived in Sri Lanka this evening (30) to attend the Indian Ocean Conference, which will begin in Colombo tomorrow.

He has arrived in the country along with a 3-member delegation.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also attend the two-day conference, hosted by India Foundation, a Delhi-based think tank, in collaboration with Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore, and National Institute of Fundamental Studies, Colombo.

The theme of the conference is peace, progress and prosperity.

Sri Lanka is expected to discuss strategies of combating drug smuggling in the two-day conference.
