Opposition Leader seeks Indian intervention to expedite new constitution

Opposition Leader and Leader of the Tamil National Alliance, R. Sampanthan said that they expect Indian to expedite the process of introducing a new constitution to Sri Lanka.

Following a meeting with visiting Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Sampanthan said that the government was postponing the drafting of a new constitution citing various reasons.

The Indian Foreign Minister was in the country to participate in the Indian Ocean Conference.
