PC Nihal Fernando who is appearing for Perpetual Treasuries Limited, at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on CBSL bond issuance, says he will inform the Commission on Wednesday, whether he would appear for the PTL further.

He had cited that the failure of the company to submit authentic audio recordings from their dealing room, as the reason for his decision. He said that the company seems to have committed a criminal offence.

Meanwhile, testifying before the Commission, PTL's Chief Dealer, Nuwan Salgado said that he was instructed by CEO Kasun Palisena to remove the unfavorable sound recordings, which were made during the controversial bond issue after the Central Bank initiated an investigation.

The witness stated that on the instructions of the CEO, he made the Chief Information Technology Officer to destroy main sound recordings, which could be detrimental to the company.

At this moment, Presidents Counsel Nihal Fernando who appeared for Perpetual Treasuries for over 6 months intervened to say that he too requested the company to provide such details.

He said that Perpetual Treasuries has covered the truth from him as well.

Later, he said that he would inform the Commission next Wednesday, whether he would further appear on behalf of the company.

At this moment, Supreme Court Judge Prasanna Jayawardana stated that Perpetual Treasuries Limited has earned unusual profits after the Central Bank Bond issue.

Chief Dealer, Perpetual Treasuries, Nuwan Salgado stated in his concluding evidence, that company CEO Kasun Palisena took action on the instructions of Arjun Aloysius to obtain a higher bidding to the controversial bond issue.
