Galle experiences over 200mm of rainfall

The Met Department states that ongoing going showers in the South-Western part of the country are expected to enhance to a certain extent during next few days.

Showers or thunderstorms will occur periodically in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces.

Heavy rainfall of approximately 100mm are expected , particularly in the Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in the Kalutara, Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Meanwhile, the Galle district has experienced incessant rainfall since last night.

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Center in Galle district told our news team that Nagoda experienced approximately 200mm of rainfall.

As a result, a landslide warning has been issued for Galle and Nuwara Eliya districts.
