Prices of food items being sold at the parliament café have been increased after 9 years.

Deputy Food Manager, Lal Amarasinghe said that the decision was taken by the parliament domestic working committee headed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

The price of a breakfast pack for a parliamentarian has increased to 100 rupees from 60 rupees. The Price of lunch has been increased to 200 rupees from 150 rupees.

Amarasinghe further said that it has been decided that if a parliamentarian hosts a lunch for more than 12 persons, the charge will be 600 rupees per person.

At present, such a guest accompanied by a parliamentarian to lunch is charged 250 rupees.

Deputy Food Manager, Amarasinghe also said prices of food provided to media personnel, security personnel and parliament staff have also been increased.
