The Disaster Management Center says several areas close to the Ratnapura town are inundated.

Muddawa, Balibathgoda and Gatangama are already under water.

As rainfall exceeded 150mm during the last 24 hours, the National Building Research Organization has issued landslide warnings to Ratnapura, Kegalle, and Kalutara districts.

Issuing a red notice, the NBRO urged the people who live in landslide prone areas in Eheliyagoda, Ayagama, Elapatha, Kuruwita and Pelmadulla in the Ratnapura district and Dehiowita of the Kalutara District and Bulathsinhala of the Kalutara District to evacuate to safe locations.
